GENERAL REGULATIONS FOR APPLICANTS
 SELECTION CRITERIA AND PROCESS
  • Students are required to apply online from the ABU website.
  • The weighted score for selection will be comprised of: 50% from English proficiency + 50% from CGPA.
  • After initial nomination by the International Programs Office, your application will be sent to the host university.
  • You will receive an official letter of acceptance from the university and student visa application.
  • After receiving your letter of acceptance the visa application process should be commenced immediately at the consulates in either Istanbul/Ankara
  • Selected students must submit an approved and signed copy of their Learning Agreements for Studies to both ABU and the host institute.
  • Students who are selected for the Erasmus + Study Mobility program will not be allowed to register for courses at ABU for that semester.
  • Courses that are passed by students at the host institute will be transferred over to ABU.
  • Erasmus students are supposed to take 30 ECTS and are responsible for passing at least 20 ECTS for each semester.
 
INSURANCE
The participants are required to have Health and Travel Insurance.
 
VISA
Selected students are required to carry out visa process at their own in embassy/ consulate of relevant country.
IPO will provide “Consulate/ Grant Letter” to be use for visa application, letter will contain terms for Erasmus Program.
 
ACCOMODATION
ABU will have no responsibility for accommodation of selected students. Instead host institute can and will helps in this regard.

THE PROCESS AFTER THE ENGLISH EXAM
  1. Announcement of the successful candidates.
  2.  Participate in the orientation sessions which are going to be held in your faculty with your academic coordinators. Time and date will be announced via e-mails. You will be informed about Learning Agreements, Course Selection, Letter of Acceptance, ECTS Credits and Grants.
  3. The Application pack which is prepared by the student will be posted by IPO to the Partner University.   
  4. Universities send e-mails about their university and accommodation if it is possible to your e-mail accounts. Follow them up; you are responsible for their rules and arranging your own accommodation.
  5. After you receive your letter of acceptance, you will apply for your visa with the documents asked from the embassy. You need to take a signed official grant letter from the ABU International Programmes Office.
  6. Open a Euro account at Deniz Bank. Your grants will be transferred to this account.
  7. The Erasmus Exchange starts with the orientation day specified by the partner university. You should travel before the orientation day.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Documents to be obtained by the student prior to departure:
 
A. Invitation Letter from the host university,
B. Learning Agreement for Studies / Training Agreement for Traineship,
C. Grant Agreement,
D. OLS - The Online Linguistic Support (Before Leaving)
E. Copy Pages of your Health & Travel Insurance Policy (Full scope and including the flight dates)
F. Copy pages of Passport Id & the visa part.
G. Copy of Deniz bank Euro Account book 
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
  • The European Commission may offer financial support to selected students. The amount of the monthly grant is determined each year by the National Agency and announced in the Application Guide.
  • Students are required to sign “Erasmus Grant Agreement” to receive their Erasmus grant.
  • The students who benefit from the EU grant will provide the office with their Euro bank account (Deniz bank) details with an official document and following this, a Grant Agreement is formed and signed by both ABU and the student.
  • Upon the completion of signatures, 80% of the total grant is transferred to the student’s account. 20% is paid after the student fulfill all the requirements, if not, remaining amount will not be transferred. Payments will be made in Euros.
  • Paid financial support in not meant to be reimburse, it is for financial assistance for mobility.
  • The real amount is calculated according to documents that students submit to International Programs Office at the end of their program.
  • Actual Erasmus Study Mobility period will be calculated according to “Letter of Confirmation” -  document supposed to be prepared by host institution and entry – exit stamps on the student passport.
  • Students who received their Erasmus grant but not able to attend or complete the program for any reason are required to refund grant within 15 days.

AFTER RETURN

Documents to be submitted by the student upon return:       

  1. Changes (if you have) in Learning agreement,
  2. Transcript Record issued by host institution,
  3. Letter of Confirmation,
  4. Online Report (Survey),
  5. Passport Copy with “Departure (Exit from the country)” and “Arrival (Enter to the country back)” stamps,
  6. OLS - The Online Linguistic Support.
IMPORTANT

Early return: Erasmus+ Studies has a minimum of 3 months / 1 semester to maximum of 12 months. Those who cannot fulfill minimum time period due to any reason unstated must return back whole amount of grant.

If the student returns early due to extenuating circumstances (family issues, health issues, natural disasters, etc.), only grant of the time period which spent abroad would paid to the student.

Studies in own country: Lowest priority will be given to students who are currently studying in Turkey and are selected for their home country for Erasmus + Mobility program.

Payment: You will receive 80% of it before you start your exchange program. You will receive the final 20% of the grant after your return to ABU, if you bring the all necessary documents you take at the companies.
